HTML
HTML is the basis of the world wide web. HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language, and it is a way of writing using special tags called HTML tags that determine how your HTML page appears in someone's web browser. HTML codes can be used to make text into links that point to other internet addresses. HTML code is also placed inside invisible tags that determine the general appearance of a site: for example the colors of the text and background are set using HTML color codes. While HTML is somewhat limited compared to new popular languages for web site writing, such as PHP and XML, many learn HTML as their first taste of site design on the world wide web.
You can learn HTML from an HTML tutorial on a web site such as W3Schools dot com. There are thousands upon thousands of tutorials to learn HTML but the basics are very easy to pick up, with the most common tags being the ones for setting HTML colors (find an HTML color chart online to help you plan the colors for your web site) and formatting text for size and font, etc. There are other options online if you do not have the time or interest to learn HTML; you can download free HTML templates off the world wide web with HTML code already set so all you have to do is put in your content text. You can also use an HTML editor that lets you write as in a standard word processor and outputs HTML pages that will show up the same way in a web browser as they do in the editor. To get a free HTML editor try a download site such as Tucows that specializes in free downloads and shareware downloads for internet related programs. When writing HTML for a specific site such as Myspace, be sure to read their HTML help section to learn how Myspace HTML works, and what Myspace HTML codes to use so the Myspace site works right with your HTML additions.
With free templates, editors, and lots of resources for helping you learn HTML on the world wide web, it has never been easier to learn all about HTML online. HTML is one of the easiest languages on the internet, and I wish you the best of luck finding out about HTML and how to write your own site on the world wide web.
